Desert Sunset

I couldn't resist playing with the Color Combination at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge this week. I decided to make something other than a Halloween card, and I ended up making a Desert/Western-themed card:
I stamped gray & lavender cardstock in black with kerchief-patterned stamp by Stampendous. I lined up the pieces; if you use your imagination, the bottom triangle might look a bit like a mountain... I heat-embossed the cactus stamp (from a MFT set) in black, colored it with a green marker, and used a Versamrk pen to cover the image with clear heat-embossing powder. I then used the emboss-resist technique to create a "sunset" with two orange inks. Thes entiment (from the same MFT set) was stamped in black on a plain wood embellishment. I distressed the patterned piece, backed it with a black paper and notched the corners with a Marvy punch.

Funny story: Just as I was gluing the last bit of this card, my friend in Arizona sent me a lovely photo of his current view, which was a Saguaro against the sunset.
